Rishikesh trip: lose yourself on the ganga
Ram jhula
As I stepped onto Ram Jhula, I was immediately swept up in the gentle sway of the bridge under my feet — a little thrill mixed with calm. The view from the center is breathtaking: the turquoise Ganga rushing below, boats floating peacefully, and the Himalayas watching from afar.I paused midway just to take in the moment — monks in orange robes walking silently, locals on scooters (yes, they cross the bridge too!), and fellow travelers snapping photos or just soaking in the vibes. The evening light was magical — the setting sun painting the sky orange, the river glistening, and birds flying overhead. It felt like time slowed down.
The ganga ghhats
Triveni Ghat
Every evening, as the sun dips behind the hills, the Ganga Aarti begins at ghats like Parmarth Niketan. Priests hold giant aarti lamps, flames swirl through the air, conch shells blow, and voices rise in unified prayer. The golden light dances on the water’s surface, as hundreds of tiny lamps float downstream — each one a hope, a wish, a prayer.
